We tested this mask for 2 months, and it held up fine. We find that cuts to the side of the head or top of the head is glanced off. In terms of fits, the overlay snuggly fits over most fencing masks, and can be tied down tight with the back strap. 

You will need to adjust the overlay on the mask, before placing it on, since the chin strap is very strong and tends to pull the overlay down. Once the mask is placed on your head, and the overlay is adjusted, you are pretty much good to go. During sparing the overlay may slide slightly, and will need slight adjustments. 

Our only complaint about the product during testing is that it is slightly loud inside the overlay when it gets hit. Sadly, this is due to the nature of a hard overlay over a fencing mask.
